Good morning,
For those of you who do not know me I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kelly Bauermeister. I grew up in California, where I attended San Diego State University, and received my bachelor’s degree and master’s in education. I taught kindergarten for four years in California. In 1999 I moved to Arizona, where my husband took over his father ‘s business.
My journey at Benchmark began 20 years ago when I enrolled my daughter Bailee in kindergarten. She is now 25, and just graduated from Pepperdine law school. I was so in awe of the school that I started subbing in the classrooms right away until my youngest daughter Brooke entered the Preschool program. She is now 21 and currently a senior at ASU. I truly believe that my daughters’ successes in education all started at Benchmark.
After subbing, I decided I wanted a more permanent role, so I started sharing a contract with Diane Kunz. This then led to me staying full-time with the first-grade team. My team has been such a solid group and we have supported each other through many of life ‘s adventures.
I have had the amazing opportunity to teach many of your children along this journey, which has been a blessing.
It is an honor and a privilege to be the principal of the Benchmark. I will continue to support the academic excellence of this school while maintaining the Benchmark traditions and supporting the students and families to the best of my ability.
